Our Mackay workshop is in high demand from Tier 1 mining clients, and we’re looking to recruit experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters to join our team.
These are workshop based positions operating on a 7/7 dayshift roster, working across a variety of large scale mining equipment. You will be involved in major component change-outs, repairs and full machine rebuilds on large mining equipment, including CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi and Liebherr.
Key responsibilities:
Carry out diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on heavy mining equipment
Complete full machine rebuilds and major overhauls
Carry out mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic system repairs and testing
Diagnose and fault-find mechanical issues across multiple systems
Work on ultra class mining equipment, including haul trucks and excavators
Role requirements:
Demonstrate an understanding of diagnostics, problem solving and fault finding
Hardworking approach – reliable and able to work effectively when unsupervised
Operate within company QA standards and meet customer expectations
Work safely and efficiently within workshop systems and procedures
High standard of work quality at all times
Commitment to safety and teamwork
Able to supply clean D&A upon request
Must be an Australian resident
Applicants to provide:
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
Experience in rebuilds, overhauls, and major component change outs
Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
Minimum 2 years post trade experience
Australian Qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade Certificate
Current drivers’ license
